if he is non-violent more than likely he will spend around 18 months in jail if it becomes way overcrowded and he wasn't a hard case being arrested or if guns was involved he might even spend around a year because many prison sometimes let non-violent offender's out early

Prisoners are being released early due to overcrowding. Nonviolent prisoners are favored.

have no idea of FL, most states automatically give good time, more good time if you work. In California, Non-violent Drug offenders are allowed to go to treatment instead of prison. But if a Bush is still Governor, chances are the only people to get a break are corporate thieves, conservative radio talk show hosts, (Rush) and Bankers.

I see people have given you the answer. I don't know the exact amount since it can change. I suggest that the person try to get into treatment or take advantage of their time. If the person has to be there they should make the most out of it so they can recover & prepare for a better life.

Every state has their own laws regarding "good time credits" and parole, but likely he will be released much sooner than 3 years. FL might have a web page like the one in Texas where you can go and see the release date of the offenders, look for it. http://168.51.178.33/webapp/TDCJ/index2.htm Try typing in a name, to see what I mean. Don't worry about date of birth or tdcj number or the sid number, just type in John Smith and see what you get. You will get 34 of them, some of who have already passed their projected release date, but when you click on the name it will tell you what the sentence is, and the date they are eligible to be released. Good Luck
