16 year old actress from jacksonville florida?

16 year old actress from jacksonville florida?
hi everyone! before i begin i wanted everyone to know that im fully aware of the slim chances and all of the heartaches and insecurities that come along with the business. but im also fully aware that you can find those qualities in just about anything else that you do in this world so with that said im going to continue. :D im 16 and from jacksonville florida, so just by the location and my late start (i haven't had any previous training or experience with acting) that i know im getting off on a rough start but i really don't care about all that. i figure im young and if its meant to happen it will happen. if not then when im 60 years old i wont have anything to regret. so my questions are do any of you guys have any tips for me to get started? especially since i do live in jacksonville and theres not alot of acting opportunities around here. my plan was to get training this year at theatre jacksonville. get all the training i can get because i know im going to need it and then with that try to audition with some local plays. i want to try to get a few student films under my belt as well but i really dont know where to start with that. after high school (i will have money saved up) perhaps moved to los angeles with a roommate because i know how much the economy is screwed right now. and then from there hopefully i can show a local ( not a big agency) my resume and maybe after a few more years of bit parts i can get a break or something. what do you guys think? sounds okay? sorry for writing too much and thanks for any answers :D

Your plan sounds okay. I say if the economy is still bad when you are done with high school to go study theatre in college. California has a really high unemployment rate right now and when you move to LA you might not be able to get a job to support yourself there. While having a theatre degree might build your confidence (since you will have the training) and put you ahead of those who have none.

I am fourteen years old and have done four plays. I think that plan sounds a lot like mine except for the roommate. If you want to do it then at auditions you must NOT be shy or nervous. Just read the lines as if it were really happening to you. Don't worry about getting a late start. But get in as much practice as you can. Try reciting lines from movies you see as best as possible. Hope I helped. Good luck.
